Movable model from our safety chuck range.
AYS Makina safety chucks connect the shaft securely to the machine in winding and unwinding applications. Their mechanical locking design holds the shaft firmly in place during operation and makes loading and unloading rolls easier, supporting safe and efficient work.
A safety chuck is the connecting element that holds the end of an air shaft, secures the shaft to the machine and transmits rotation to it. The shaft end is dropped into the chuck’s seat and the chuck is closed to hold it safely in place. At roll change, the shaft can be released and lifted out quickly and easily.
Safety chucks are used together with air shafts on winders and unwinders. On packaging, printing, paper and plastic film lines, they are the preferred way to carry and drive the roll safely, especially on machines where heavy rolls are changed often. See our packaging page for application examples.
Our safety chucks are designed with safe operation in mind: even if the operator forgets to lock the chuck, it locks itself on the first turn. The outer surfaces are induction-hardened against impact, and the parts are protected with chrome and special coatings. Spare parts are available for our chucks, and our technicians carry out fitting quickly and easily. The safety chuck is considered in slide-mounted and flange-mounted versions.
